Regulation (EC) No 1099/2009 on the protection of animals at the time of killing does not contain any specific rules which would restrict or prohibit the exports to third countries of meat of animals which have been subject to ritual slaughter in accordance with Article 4(4) of the Regulation.
In this context, as long as export conditions comply with the requirements laid down in Regulation 1099/2009, the Commission cannot impose particular methods of slaughter with or without stunning.
