Integrated Sustainable Urban Development Strategy: river Henares

EN E-005479/2018 Answer given by Ms Creţu on behalf of the European Commission (22.12.2018) 1. The Commission services do not have the details of the project developed by the City of Guadalajara. As a rule, the Commission services are not involved in the evaluation, selection or monitoring of the execution of the projects co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), tasks which are under the responsibility of the national authorities. Nevertheless, all the projects selected need to comply with the national and European Union legislation. 2. According to the information received from the managing authority of the ERDF, no project has been approved for European financing for the area of intervention 9 “Recuperation of the Ribera del Rio Henares” from the Integrated Sustainable Development Strategy of Guadalajara. According to the Spanish authorities, the project developed by the City received the authorisation of the Tagus Hydrographic but, currently, it does not meet the necessary requirements to obtain European financing.
