Air pollution reduction plans for Madrid

EN E-005726/2018 Answer given by Mr Vella on behalf of the European Commission (14.1.2019) Spain was one of the nine Member States invited to the Ministerial Air Quality Summit held on 30 January 2018 to address serious and persistent air pollution problems. Following this Summit, a Clean Air Dialogue held in Madrid in October 2018 and a number of exchanges at service and at Ministerial level, the Commission continues to closely monitor the implementation and the effectiveness in the planned timetables of the package of measures announced by Spain. The Commission is committed to working in partnership with all Member States to achieve the agreed air quality objectives, making use of all appropriate legal powers to enforce the relevant EU law.
